Rev. Doug Phillips Profile

Rev. Doug Phillips (Youth Section)

On December 14, 1985 at 9:15 p.m. Jesus took a broken life and breathed the breath of life into the soul of Doug Phillips. This dramatic conversion launched Doug phillips on a spiritual journey that, five weeks later on January 18, 1986 at 9:00 p.m. would find a life being set on fire by the power of the Holy Ghost! Doug's early days following Jesus found him witnessing and ministering to every one he could. Doug began to do street ministry in downtown Atlanta where he regularly ministered to drug addicts, alcoholics, homeless people, homosexuals, pimps and prostitutes, and those marginalized by society. Doug Phillips has been extensively involved in missions work, he has evangelized, spent several years in youth ministry where many teens received a call to full-time ministry. Doug has preached the gospel in five countries, and has a global vision for ministry in the last days " to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation in the power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost!" Four years ago Pastors Doug and Anna Phillips came to pastor Oleander Avenue Church of God. Their first service there were 35 people, and the church was facing some difficult circumstances. The church has grown to over 300 in attendance, many of whom are new converts! This tremendous growth has been experienced despite going through hurricane devastation where Pastors Doug and Anna lost their home and the church was displaced for 9 months. Oleander Avenue Church of God moved back into their facility on Palm Sunday 2005 with 90 people, in a year and a half the church has grown to over 300! Pastor Doug's ministry manifests the power of Pentecost: a passion for souls, fiery anointed preaching, the healing mercy of Jesus, getting people empowered with the Holy Ghost, equipping the saints, and raising up sons and daughters to do kingdom work globally.
