Competition Rules

1. Each participating group must be a minimum of 2 individuals and no larger than 15 individuals
2. A maximum of 15 groups will be allowed to participate. A minimum of 10 teams must register for the competition to take place.
3. The registration cost is $100 per team (regardless of team size)
4. Registration must be paid in full by Sunday, July 11, 2010 by 6:00 PM
5. Each team will be required to bring one judge to be part of the judging team
6. Each team must sing an English Christian song by a Christian artist/performer. The type of song is left to the discretion of the individual groups. The song (on a CD) and lyrics must be provided to PYFA by August 13, 2010. PYFA Officials reserve the right to approve/disapprove of any song that does not fit the criteria provided.
7. If the group sings another song than the song they provided, they will be disqualified.
8. Any musical style is acceptable, but repertoire inappropriate for a family show is not acceptable.
9. No instruments of any kind are allowed. A pitch pipe may be used prior to the start of your performance, but not during the performance.
10. Clapping, snapping, and beat boxing will be allowed. Stomping of the feet will not be allowed.
11. Groups may not bring or provide their own sound system, microphones, headsets, processors, or sound technicians. Groups will be allowed a 10-minute sound check before the competition begins. If a team is not present for their slotted sound check time they will forfeit their sound check.
12. Each team will have 3 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to sing.
13. 1 point will be deducted from the total score for any group that exceeds the 5 minutes limit. 1 additional point will be deducted for every full minute after 5 minutes.
14. Scores of all the judges will be posted live for all to see, the final results will be audited by an independent auditor.
15. The team with the highest overall score will win $1000.00 Cash Prize
